Tāhono is about connection

Inclusive Aotearoa Collective Tāhono is focused on connecting and empowering communities and community-based action across Aotearoa Te Waipounamu.

We create and support cross-sector community networks that reduce discrimination and strengthen belonging.

We do this by seeding and supporting cross-sector action groups, delivering workshops, and offering advisory services.

Our work is centred on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tino rangatiratanga, which are essential in forging a respectful and inclusive future for our country.

We are currently out and about for our third round of national Belonging Conversations - a platform for communities to share their lived experiences and aspirations by discussing these three simple questions.

We are excited and grateful to have an opportunity for a live kōrero with Bev Tso Hong from Community Research about the project. Join in for this webinar to hear about changes in perspectives on belonging and not-belonging over the years, and how these conversations relate to and can help build social cohesion across Aotearoa.

Today is Race Relations Day, and this year’s theme is “Aotearoa kanorau taurikura - Uniting diverse communities for a thriving New Zealand.”

We tautoko this theme, with interconnection being core to our kaupapa, but we also believe that we must do more to push back against the systemic and explicit racism taking place in Aotearoa Te Waipounamu.
