Designing our Constitution 2024 Recordings available

The recordings from the Designing our Constitution 2024 hui, which took place a few weeks ago, are now available to view online.

In memory of Dr Moana Jackson’s legacy and celebration of Matike Mai Aotearoa, there was an amazing lineup of kaikōrero over the two-day conference, including Francisco Calí Tzay, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Our team was there to contribute and listen to the kōrero on offer. If you are searching for inspiration and ideas on indigenous rights and an inclusive future for Aotearoa, we recommend you check out the videos linked below.

Some whakaaro our team took from the hui:

  • The importance of clear and accessible language for getting whānau involved in this work cannot be understated.
  • Unity doesn’t have to mean we think the same; unification and solidarity are important to an extent, but diverse inclusion will always require and should encourage diversity in perspective. This can mean being creative, flexible, and spacious in our approaches.
  • Recognising the importance of Pasifika and other tauiwi in this journey, but also that there is no justice for us if there is no justice for Māori.
