Join us in celebrating Samoa Language Week!
We will be meeting online at:
Wednesday, 29th May at 7:00 pm
Thursday, 30th May at 12:00 pm
In celebration of Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa, we are holding two informal Samoan language sessions to cover pronunciation and some everyday words and phrases.
Project facilitator Lautalie Schmidt-Geen will lead these sessions. She will share her journey as a first-generation NZ-born Samoan and what it means for her. Her parents would speak Samoan to their agia, but the children would answer them back in palagi. This has meant that speaking Samoan is somewhat challenging while she can understand it.
Join us on her journey of rediscovering her culture and language and sharing her knowledge with our communities.
