Inclusive Aotearoa Collective Tāhono seeks an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented office and accounts kaimahi to join our team. 

Hours: 12 hours per week, working on:
                  – Monday, 9 am – 1 pm (fixed)
                  – Thursday, 9 am – 1 pm (flexi-hours)
                  – Friday, 9 am – 1 pm (flexi-hours)

Location: remote 

Pay rate: $35.00 per hour

About the opportunity: As Tāhono’s new Office and Accounts Assistant, you will provide administrative support, handle financial tasks, and assist with a variety of office tasks on assignment. Strong communication skills, advanced software and computer literacy, and a can-do attitude are required. 

Tasks involved but not limited to are as follows:

  • Office Support:
    • Provide email assistance when required.
    • Organising meeting agendas and taking minutes when required.
    • Handling all website enquiries and managing data report requests.
    • Setting up Zoom meetings for the team when required.
    • Database support and management.
    • Co-ordinating travel arrangements.
    • Supporting the team in their various workstreams as needed.
    • Undertaking other administrative assignments as required.
  • Accounting support
    • Advanced skills in Xero are required – accounts payable/receivable.
    • Ensuring invoices and timesheets are checked and verified as correct. If there are discrepancies, they are to be investigated and resolved appropriately before being sent for approval.
    • Dealing with enquiries relating to invoices/payments and answering telephone calls/emails to ensure queries were dealt with professionally and on time.
    • Reconcile credit card and accounts payable transactions with bank statements.
    • Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes and providing Xero reports to be shared at team meetings.

The person we are looking for has:

  • A minimum of 3 years of administrative experience and Accounts Payable/Receivable experience in Aotearoa;
  • Experience connecting and engaging with diverse communities;
  • A commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tino rangatiratanga;
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Xero and an open mind to learning new software and skills;
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude combined with an ability to take initiative and work autonomously without supervision;
  • The capacity to work remotely, with the office equipment needed to fulfil the tasks required.
