Media as Allies partners with StuffNZ in their Te Matarau workshops

In December 2023, our Media as Allies group was asked to work alongside StuffNZ in delivering their Te Matarau workshops to news entities. This module focuses on improving the representation of marginalised communities in the media, with an emphasis on pou tiaki.

This work is core to the kaupapa of our MAA group, and we were happy to participate and share our experiences and research findings in several workshops across Aotearoa. Our group participated and contributed to StuffNZ’s media hui last year, holding a presentation and panel on media representation.

This year, our group has some great opportunities for further partnerships, as well as plans to release some exciting resources. If you are interested in joining our group, we warmly invite expressions of interest from a diverse range of media-savvy community members.
