Un/Real: Whakakotiti – Responding to Online Warfare

Next week our co-lead superstar Anjum Rahman is delivering a talk in Tauranga, hosted by Waikato University. We welcome you to come along to the event if you are in the rohe.

Lecture brief: Online warfare involves states and extremist groups, but also the individuals who get drawn in. This talk addresses the tools, strategies and impacts of harm happening online, from disinformation to generative AI. It will also suggest solutions that would work at the local level for what is a global issue, considering impacts to mental health, wellbeing, social cohesion and physical safety.
