Kia ora koutou, Greetings and As-Salaam-Alaikum,

Progress on establishing the Inclusive Aotearoa Collective continues, and I’m humbled by the new volunteers who are coming onboard each week.
As well, by those who continue to be supportive – with their help, we have been able to keep moving forward.

We will be doing some work that will help us to develop the mission, vision and values of the Inclusive Aotearoa Collective. In the last Update, we included some questions to help your thinking, here are they are again:

  1. How will NZ be different if the IAC is successful?
  2. What is the difference the IAC can make?
  3. Which three values are most important for the IAC to reflect?

Video of meeting

The communications team would like to record the Zoom meeting to assist with the strategy work to follow. The video will not be made public, however if anyone has a problem with this please contact [email protected].

Updates

Academics/Researchers
Last week we had a great meeting with academics at the University of Waikato, with a main focus of conducting literature reviews to help us with the development of the strategy document.

We know that communities have spent a lot of time talking about the barriers they face and what they need to lead a fulfilling life. Gathering this material will help us when we carry out face-to-face consultations across the country. I’d really like to thank all those who came to discuss this and have offered to help.

Staffer needed
We are getting a lot of interest in the job that has been advertised now for a couple of weeks ago.

The advertisement can be found here, and the Job Description can be downloaded at inclusiveaotearoa.nz. Please do share with your networks. Applications close on 23 August 2019.

Website & Logo
Work is underway on the design of a logo and development of a microsite. Thanks to Jess Holdaway for working on this, and to Momentum Waikato for their support of this part of the project. We’re hoping to have something online by early September.

We look forward to catching up with you tomorrow, Tuesday.

Thank you for all your ongoing support!
And look forward to connecting online (or off) very soon.

Ngā mihi nui,

Anjum Rahman
